Maintaining Your Landscape - August

-Deadhead annuals and perennials to encourage reblooming.
-Complete evergreen pruning this month to ensure they are prepared for the fall and winter.
-Water trees, shrubs, and perennials deeply as this month is hot and dry.
-Water potted plants daily, some may need to be watered several times a day.
-Remove diseased material to ensure it doesn’t spread through the garden.
-Trim spring and summer annuals, and feed with bloom booster to refresh them.
-Stop deadheading reblooming roses to ensure they produce hips for the fall.
-Lawns may become dry and brown; this is okay as the grass is dormant. By allowing your lawn to do this you are being more environmentally friendly.
