Revolutionary 100 - 2014

VERNON, Connecticut, (Jan. 17, 2014) – The Garden Barn Nursery & Landscape joined the ranks of the horticulture industry’s top independent garden centers when it was named one of Today’s Garden Center magazine’s Revolutionary 100 Garden Centers for 2014.

The Revolutionary 100 program, which began in 2006, surveys garden center owners and managers and culminates in a listing of the 100 most revolutionary garden centers in the nation. It is open to all independent garden centers, large and small, and is based on leadership and innovation, not on size or revenue.

“It’s an honor and privilege to receive such an award. We are both blessed and humbled to be acknowledged amongst the many outstanding garden centers on this list.  We will continue to strive in the future to always learn and grow, constantly looking to better both our industry and our company,” says Shawn Gliha, Nursery Manager.

Garden center owners and managers across the United States fill out an extensive online questionnaire covering topics, such as customer and community service, management philosophy, marketing, use of technology, purchasing and profitability.

The Garden Barn has been serving Tolland County, and beyond, for 32 years, providing not only quality plants, but the service and information to help everyone become successful in the garden.  The Garden Barn employs over 40 people in the peak season, creating a large knowledge base to serve you.  Its goal is to make garden success an easy to follow plan, through a wide variety of sources.  Whether you follow us on Facebook, receive our E-Newsletter, call us or stop by the store, we are here to help.  Come join us on an adventure and make gardening exciting again!

“The garden centers that made this year’s list are an exceptional group of forward-thinking, independent retailers who understand that their customers constantly evolve and strive to provide what they need to succeed in the gardening lifestyle,” says Today’s Garden Center Editor Carol Miller. “We are proud to call them revolutionary.”

The 2014 Revolutionary 100 Awards program is sponsored by one of the premier industry suppliers for plants, HGTV Home Plants Collection, and the national association for the garden industry, AmericanHort.
