Hummingbird Feeders

Hummingbirds are truly astonishing creatures. They are the smallest birds in the world and the only ones who can fly forwards and backwards. Hummingbirds, or "Hummers" (as the experts call them), consume nectar to fuel the bug-eating machines that they are. We are very lucky to witness these birds in action. Since hummers only live in North and South America, we have a responsibility to protect their populations and help them thrive. The first step is to have nectar-rich, flowering plants in your garden, and at least one hummingbird feeder. Once they have taken up residence around your home, they will naturally pollinate many plants and consume insects for sustenance. Hummers' favorite food sources are gnats, mosquitoes, aphids, caterpillars, flies, and insect eggs.
